Enoteca della Fortezza is a 'treasure chest of gastronomic delights' in a truly unique location. Buried in the grotto of the 16th Century Medici Fortress built by Cosimo De'Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany, the enoteca dominates the enchanting panorama of the Old Town and the Gulf of Portoferraio.

Enoteca della Fortezza is promoted by Slow Food, and is supported by the Municipality of Portoferraio, the Province of Livorno, together with the Agency for the Promotion of Tourism of the Tuscan Archipelago. Other supporters include the Consorzio Elba DOC and GAL Etruria.

Enoteca della Fortezza is the starting point for all gourmets and it is here that you have every opportunity to taste the finest delicacies of the Tuscan Archipelago, proving to be a unique source of inexorable discovery.

Enoteca della Fortezza is the only place where ALL the DOC wines of the territory can be found.. and not only! Here, one can sip an excellent Elban wine on the outdoor terrace while munching on some local delicacy. For instance a glass of fresh Vermentino paired with a cold octopus salad or else an intensely fragrant glass of Aleatico (considered one of the best raisin wines in Italy) in which to dip home-made cantucci biscuits.
